Anni Downs - the designer behind Hatched and Patched is known for her whimsical quilt and textile projects showcasing hand stitching - particularly applique and embroidery.  As a lover or hand-work, she has a deep appreciation for quality needles. 

The long shand and small eye mean they carry the thread smoothly through the cloth.  They are favoured by many quilters for English paper piecing, but Anni uses these exclusively for American piecing and applique.  They are also the needle of choice for bullion stitch embroidery and beading.
